You will find loads of software that are available on Internet to speed up your Windows XP operating system. Just follow these steps to boost your Windows XP:

1. Defragment of your hard drive: This is one of the most common ways to boost your Windows XP speed. Defragmentation arranges your data in your hard drive. Data are scattered at multiple locations on your hard drive, so de-fragmentation arrange the data in a neat manner. 4. Disk Cleanup utility: Disk Cleanup utility can allow you to find files that are no longer useful. By deleting those files you can use that free space for storage. This utility is very useful for removing temporary Internet files, downloaded program files, empty your Recycle Bin, to remove Windows temporary files, remove optional Windows XP components and getting rid of installed program that you no longer use.
