Encrypt Your Wi-Fi Connection

When you leave your Wi-Fi connection unprotected, always remember you are leaving it vulnerable to third-parties. A scammer or spammer can use an un-encrypted Internet connection, like yours and can send you unwanted spam. So it is very important for you to encrypt your Wi-Fi connection when you establish one.
You need a Wireless router for this. Just follow these steps:
1. Firstly open your Internet browser and type in your wireless router address. You will find this address in your documentation that comes with your router.
2. Log on to your router when you see the dialog box appear. This will either be a default login information or a user name and password that you have set previously.
3. Click on the "Wireless" or "Wireless Security" tab on your router's settings dashboard.
4. Select WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) or WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access) for your security mode. Both will encrypt your Wi-Fi connection and it will protect it. WPA is latest in wireless protection.
5. Enter your pass phrase between eight to 63 characters. Set the router to use it in the first key in your list. Just click "Generate" to generate a series of unique wireless keys.
6. Enter your pass phrase between eight and 32 characters long. Set your WPA algorithm at TKIP.
7. Write down all the wireless passwords that you have created, for your reference, and save your wireless settings.

8. Give your wireless key to everyone who wants to use your Wi-Fi connection.
Therefore, by encrypting your Wi-Fi connection, save your computer, personal data and always stay safe.
