Facebook on a Cleaning Spree
The famous social networking site Facebook on Internet has finally got fed up with all the viruses and spam that is infecting the social network and embarrassing its esteemed 350 million members.
The company made a deal with McAfee which is a leading maker of anti-virus software, to give Facebook users a complimentary subscription of six months to McAfee’s Internet Security Suite. Facebook users will be allowed a discount on the software. Under the terms of this partnership, McAfee will become Facebook’s exclusive provider of all the consumer security software on an annual basis.
Facebook will also use a McAfee tool to scan the computer of any user whose account will get compromised by malware. If you are a Facebook user and your account gets hijacked then you have to go through a remedial process. You will now have to subject your computers to this scan to regain your control over your Facebook account.
According to the reports more than half of the Internet users still do not have any anti-virus software to protect their computers. Facebook has its own technology which aims to keep malware off the site. But security continues to be an issue for Facebook and across the Web. This new move will surely make Face book feel secure.
